Accounting I Course Description:
Accounting I is designed for students who have a variety of career objectives. The course will provide accounting knowledge and skills needed for beginning accounting careers, for careers in business-related fields, or to serve as a foundation for those who wish to continue the study of accounting at the college level. Accounting I presents an introduction to basic accounting and financial statements for service and merchandising businesses. The accounting cycle is presented for each type of business.

Accounting II Course Description:
Accounting II was created to expand upon the fundamental accounting content and procedures covered in Accounting I. The semester will start out with an Accounting Cycle, Payroll Accounting, and Merchandising Accounting review. Using the textbook we will also explore Accounting for Special Procedures and additional accounting topics including Partnerships and Ethics. We will also spend some time learning the best practices of Automated Accounting.

Preparation for Class:
Students will be provided with a computer and additional resources for class when appropriate. It is recommended that students have a binder or folder (either physical or virtual), a writing utensil and school agenda when they come to class.
Note: This year in class students will be using the online learning management system Google Classroom. This resource is accessible from any electronic device with a reliable Internet connection. Students will view lessons, have access to course resources and submit assignments through this platform.
