READ 180 (Period 5)

Course Description: Reading and Comprehension is a remedial reading program designed for the “far below grade level” reader. The course is designed to place students on their direct instruction level, and pace according to the student needs. Frequent review and assessment of reading skills and vocabulary direct the need for further support through differentiated instruction. This class completes the Workshops 1-9 in the READ180 Scholastic Reading Program and includes all four components of the program. Those components are: Direct instruction through whole group and small group in all four workshops, independent reading, and computer software.
